In this document, you will find a group of new words that I found in Jeremy's Harmer book, The practice of English. I read chapter 8 which is called Mistakes and feedback and I discovered new terminology that will be useful during my learning process.
accuracy

the state of being exact or correct; the ability to do something with skill and without making mistakes
Example: Candidates are judged on technical accuracy as well as artistic expression.

Assessment
noun
An opinion or a judgement about somebody/something that has been thought about very carefully.
Example: An adequate environmental impact assessment was not carried out on the bypass project.

Attempt
noun
An act of trying to do something, especially something difficult, often with no success.
Example: I passed my driving test at the first attempt.

Error
noun
A mistake, especially one that causes problems or affects the result of something.
Example: The report contains some factual errors that must be corrected.

Explicit
adjective
Of a statement or piece of writing) clear and easy to understand, so that you have no doubt what is meant.
Example: He gave me very explicit directions on how to get there.

Fluency
noun
The quality of being able to speak or write a language, especially a foreign language, easily and well.
Example: Fluency in French is required for this job.

Implicit
adjective
Implicit (in something) suggested without being directly expressed.
Example: Implicit in his speech was the assumption that they were guilty.

Interlanguage
noun
A language system produced by somebody who is learning a language, which has features of the language that they are learning and also of their first language.
Example: The payback of interlanguage operability is worth the extra time.

Medal

What teacher gives students for doing something good.
Example: I give him a medal because he finished his task on time.

Mission
noun
A direction teachers give students to improve in something.
Example: The mission of today will be to answer the following task.

Praise

Words that show that you approve of and admire somebody/something.
Example: The team coach singled out two players for special praise.

noun
The act of creating or preparing something again.
Example: The reformulation of party policy.

Noun
Small mistake, usually made by being careless or not paying attention.
Example: He recited the whole poem without making a single slip.
