This is my introduction to my glossary. I will define some terms that we use in my study field. I will present 20 terms that I found on the internet. They are not that complicated, they are just important. To find these words, I just had to think about every class and think about the terms that came the most. I want you to read them all to understand better the terms that we use in psychology.

Altruism
selfless concern for the well-being of others, without care for one's own interests; unselfishness. - Google dictionary
Anxiety
a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome - Google dictionary
Behavior
the way in which one acts or conducts oneself, especially toward others - Google dictionary
Cognition
the mental action or process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the senses. - Google dictionary
Consciousness
the state of being awake and aware of one's surroundings. - Google dictionary
Depression
feelings of severe despondency and dejection. -Google dictionary
Emotion
a natural instinctive state of mind deriving from one's circumstances, mood, or relationships with others. - Google dictionary
Intelligence
the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. - Google dictionary
Memory
he faculty by which the mind stores and remembers information - Google dictionary
Perception
the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses. - Google dictionary
Projection
an estimate or forecast of a future situation or trend based on a study of present ones. - Google dictionary
Punishment
the infliction or imposition of a restriction, financial penalty, form of suffering, or other undesired consequence for an offense. - Google dictionary
Self-esteem
confidence in one's own worth or abilities; self-respect. - Google dictionary
Stereotype
a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing. - Google dictionary
Stress
pressure or tension exerted on a material object. - Google dictionary
Subconscious
of or concerning the part of the mind of which one is not fully aware but which influences one's actions and feelings. - Google dictionary
Synapse
a junction between two nerve cells, consisting of a minute gap across which impulses pass by diffusion of a neurotransmitter. -Google dictionary
Therapy

Trauma

Unconscious
