I always want to take care of the animal that is surrounded me even we they weren't mine. So, it's why I choose to study in the program of Animal Health Technology, but we can also call it a vet assistant. The program takes three years, but I didn't started it. The glossary is to describe some terms that are used to diagnose why the animal is sick, and the materials. Some vet assistant don't really explain what the term means, so I decide to do a glossary to help more to understand the meaning of the words. After my three years, I will specialize more on the animal of the farm that it will take me six months to complete to La Pocatière. I find all my definition by using Google, but I use some platforms that are medical.

Adrenalectomy
A surgery to remove one or both of the adrenal glands, often is done to remove a tumor.
Anaesthetic machine
A medical device used to generate and mix a fresh gas flow of medical gases and inhalation anesthetic agents for the purposes of inducing and maintaining anesthesia.
Centrifugal machine
A device that uses centrifugal force to subject a specimen to a specified constant force– for example, to separate various components of a fluid.
Computer axial tomography (CAT) scans
A procedure that uses a computer linked to an x-ray machine to make a series of detailed pictures of areas inside the body. The pictures are taken from different angles and are used to create 3-dimensional (3-D) views of tissues and organs. A dye may be injected into a vein or swallowed to help the tissues and organs show up more clearly. A computerized axial tomography scan may be used to help diagnosed disease, plan treatment, or find out how well treatment is working. Also, called CAT scan, computed tomography scan, computerized tomography, and CT scan.
Cystocentesis
A veterinary procedure in which a needle is inserted into the urinary bladder of an animal through the abdominal wall, and a urine sample is taken.
Deoxygenated
To remove oxygen from a substance.
Drawing blood
A procedure in which a needle is used to take blood from a vein, usually for laboratory testing.
Dressing wounds
A piece of material such as a pad applied to a wound to promote healing and protect the wound from further harm.
IV Pumps
An infusion pump infuses fluids, medication or nutrients into a patient's circulatory system. It is generally used intravenously, although subcutaneous, arterial and epidural infusions are occasionally used.
Lab samples
A laboratory (lab) test checks a sample of your blood, urine (pee), or other body fluid or tissue to learn about your health. The sample is sent to a lab where health care professionals test it to see if it contains certain substances and, if so, how much.
Laser
Treat or remove (something) using a laser, especially as part of surgery.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs)
A medical imaging technique that uses a magnetic field and computer-generated radio waves to create detailed images of the organs and tissues in your body.
Myocardium
Comprises the middle and thickest layer of the heart wall.
Ophthalmoscope
An instrument for inspecting the retina and other parts of the eye.
Pancytopenia
A condition in which there is a lower-than-normal number of red and white blood cells and platelets in the blood.
Stethoscope
A medical instrument for listening to the action of someone's heart or breathing, typically having a small disk-shaped resonator that is placed against the chest, and two tubes connected to earpieces.
Thyroidectomy
The surgical removal of all or part of your thyroid gland.
Ultrasound
Sound or other vibrations having an ultrasonic frequency, particularly as used in medical imaging.
Example: An ultrasound scan, especially one of a pregnant woman to examine the fetus.
Ventrodorsal
Pertaining to the ventral and dorsal aspects of the body; extending from the ventral to the dorsal side.
Zoonotic
An infectious disease that is transmitted between species from animals to humans.
