This is a glossary to help young students practice basic English words that will most likely be used every day at school.

a pencil

An instrument for writing or drawing, consisting of a thin stick of graphite or a similar substance enclosed in a long thin piece of wood or fixed in a metal or plastic case.
Example: A speaking child may be able to see written words in a book but not able to read, likewise he may be able to hold A PENCIL with his fingers and scribbles or draw but unable to write words.
