Allergy

An exaggerated response from the body's immune system to otherwise inert substances present in the environment
Example: However, the cost, side effects and ALLERGY risk associated with antibiotics call into question whether they should be prescribed in acute asthma.

Anemia
noun
A common blood disorder where the blood doesn't have enough healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin to carry oxygen to the body's tissues
Example: Blood disorders, such as ANEMIA has been observed in approximately 1/3 of infected cats.

Bandage
noun
A strip of material used to bind a wound or to protect an injured part of the body.
Example: The treatment of soft tissue injuries is based on resting the injured part, applying ice packs to limit swelling and reduce pain, the application of a firm compression BANDAGE as support, and elevation of the limb.

Example: The nursing DIAGNOSIS will focus on aspects of the client's life that have been affected by the illness or its symptoms and seek to help the client manage these problems.

heart attack

A myocardial infarction, happens when the flow of blood that brings oxygen to a part of your heart muscle suddenly becomes blocked. Your heart can't get enough oxygen.
Example: This results over a period in a HEART ATTACK as has happened to you on 2 occasions previously.

Nausea

A feeling of sickness with an inclination to vomit.
Example: Also, it has been reported that most patients tolerate continuous feeding better as they are less likely to experience; bloating, NAUSEA, abdominal distension and diarrhea.

Nervous system

The nervous system is the body's complex communication network, made of nerves and nerve cells that transmit signals using electrical and chemical means, allowing the brain and spinal cord to receive information from the body and send instructions to muscles, glands, and organs
Example: All sensory systems have some kinds of adaptation and inhibition mechanisms to prevent over stimulation of the central NERVOUS SYSTEM, and these mechanisms are generally specifically tuned to the stimulus in question.

A specific type of atom defined by the total number of protons and neutrons in its nucleus
Example: The scientist studied the properties of each nuclide to understand its radioactive behavior

Example: One could also argue that keeping Bill in hospital and not treating him would be overlooking the NURSE's common law duty of care to the client.

Syringe
noun
A tube with a nozzle and piston or bulb for sucking in and ejecting liquid in a thin stream, used for cleaning wounds or body cavities, or fitted with a hollow needle for injecting or withdrawing fluids.
Example: It is better to use a larger SYRINGE to give a smaller injection because you don't have to draw up so far, therefore more control over needle as you plunge.

A chair fitted with wheels for use as a means of transport by a person who is is unable to walk, or finds walking difficult, as a result of illness, injury, or disability.
Example: Patient was WHEELCHAIR bound due to the pain he was getting from his knees due to osteoarthritis.
