By providing definitions, this glossary seeks to clarify some of the more complex terms used in discussions related to my field of study. This dictionary can assist in resolving writing and communication issues in the real world. There are twenty terms in it. I'm a business management student, where we develop the skills required to operate in the industry and possibly start our own company. The next step is to use this dictionary to assist you in your business emails and interactions.
- Affiliate marketing

- B2B
- Acronym
- B2B, or Business-to-Business, describes any business transaction, commercial relationship, or activity where companies sell products and services to other companies, rather than to individual consumers.
- B2C

- B2C, or Business-to-Consumer, describes a business model where companies sell products or services directly to individual end-users or consumers for personal use, rather than selling to other businesses.
- BIMI
- Acronym
- BIMI, which stands for Brand Indicators for Message Identification, is an email standard that allows organizations to display their registered trademark logo next to their authenticated email messages in a recipient's inbox, like Gmail or Yahoo.
- Branding

- Branding is the process of creating a distinct and recognizable identity for a company, product, or service in the minds of consumers, distinguishing it from competitors through a unique name, logo, design, values, and a consistent message.
- Buyer behavior

- Buyer behavior describes the intricate processes individuals and organizations use to identify needs, search for information, evaluate alternatives, make purchases, and dispose of products or services, encompassing the psychological, social, cultural, and economic factors that influence these actions.
- Cold Calling

- Contact Form

- Decision-Maker

- A decision-maker in sales is the person or group within a company who has the ultimate authority to approve a purchase and can say "yes" or "no" to a sales offer.

- Direct sales involve selling products or services directly from a vendor to a customer without using retailers or other intermediaries.

- In sales, a heat map is a data visualization tool that uses colors to represent values and patterns in a user-friendly format. It helps sales teams understand customer behavior, market demand, and internal team performance by highlighting areas of intensity or activity.

- In sales, a lead is a person, company, or contact who has shown some interest in your product or service and could potentially become a customer.

- The 4 “P”s: price, product, promotion, and place (point of sale). A combination of factors that can be controlled by a company to influence consumers to purchase its products.
- Pain Point

- In sales, a pain point is a significant problem, frustration, or unmet need that a current or prospective customer experiences with a product, service, or their overall situation.
- Pay-Per-Click (PPC)

- Pay-Per-Click (PPC) is a digital advertising model where an advertiser pays a fee each time their ad is clicked, driving targeted traffic to a website or app.
- Product Positioning

- Product positioning is the strategic process of establishing a unique and distinct identity for a product or service in the minds of target customers, relative to competing offerings.
- Quota

- A sales quota is a specific, quantifiable, and time-bound sales goal or target, set by management, that a sales representative or team is expected to achieve within a defined period.
- ROI
- Acronym
- Return on investment (ROI) of a marketing campaign compares the cost of the campaign to how much money it brought in.
- Skim pricing

- Strategy that involves pricing a product higher at first in order to eventually lower it once competitors enter the market.
