I want to be a criminologist in the future.I want to help people with their lives and I think this job will be perfect for me.In fact, I want to work with homeless’ people to help them to live a better life.I think it is important to know this word in English, because in criminology it is not everyone that speak French.I really think that a lot of people speak English, and it is important to communicate with them with the right language, like that, everyone will understand.
- causes
- A person or thing that gives rise to an action, phenomenon, or condition.
- consequences
- A result or effect of an action or condition.
- correction
- Punishment, especially that of criminals in prison intended to rectify their behavior.
- crime
- An action or omission that constitutes an offense that may be prosecuted by the state and is punishable by law.
- crime's victim
- A person who has suffered harm, including physical or mental injury; emotional suffering; economic loss or substantial impairment of his or her fundamental rights, through acts or omissions that are in violation of our criminal law.
- criminal
- A person who has committed a crime.
- criminal justice system
- System of law enforcement that is directly involved in apprehending, prosecuting, defending, sentencing, and punishing those who are suspected or convicted of criminal offenses.
- delinquency
- Minor crime, especially that committed by young people.
- economic conditions
- Financial state of individuals or societies, encompassing aspects such as work, buying, saving, giving, and debt.
- investigating
- Carry out a systematic or formal inquiry to discover and examine the facts of (an incident, allegation, etc.) so as establishing the truth.
- justice system
- A cornerstone in our democracy, is a key component in maintaining law and order in society and the overall prosperity of Canada.
- law
- System of rules which a particular country or community recognizes as regulating the actions of its members and which it may enforce by the imposition of penalties.
- peer influence
- Instances where one person affects, or is affected by, one other or multiple others who are similar in age.
- penal institution
- A facility where individuals convicted of violating criminal laws are confined or supervised under conditions of limited freedom as a form of punishment, control, or reform.
- prevention
- The action of stopping something from happening or arising.
- psychological
- Of, affecting, or arising in the mind; related to the mental and emotional state of a person.
- research
- Systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions.
- social theory
- Ideas, arguments, hypotheses, thought-experiments, and explanatory speculations about how and why human societies—or elements or structures of such societies—come to be formed, change, and develop over time or disappear.
- sociological condition
- Sociological process of training individuals in a society to respond in a manner generally approved by the society in general and peer groups within society.
- victimization
- The action of singling someone out for cruel or unjust treatment.
