20 Accounting terms

Hello, my name is Krishnanthy. The name of my program is Accounting and Management Technology. My field of study is accounting. I am currently in my fifth session and plan to graduate in the end of autumn 2025. I currently have seven courses such as accounting in cost price, finance, international commerce, human resources and marketing. Once I graduate, I plan to find a part-time job in accounting while I keep studying at university. I want to go to Concordia University. In my career, I will face choices as which type of accountant I want to be. In the glossary, you will see twenty words that is related with my field of study.

Property owned by a person or company, regarded as having value and available to meet debts, commitments, or legacies.
Example: The investors will hold portfolios among those three funds, and the interesting point is the present of R N has linked investors' ASSET pricing behaviour with the economic condition.

A statement of the assets, liabilities, and capital of a business or other organization at a particular point in time, detailing the balance of income and expenditure over the preceding period.
Example: Finance and Operating leases are not in substance considered as purchases, unlike Capital leases, which are shown on the BALANCE SHEET.

Example: The cost of goods sold is considered an expense in accounting.

Example: The monetary approach concludes that in the long run, Exchange rates move in proportion to money supply and also, somewhat against immediate intuition, that an increase in interest rates leads to a long run DEPRECIATION in the economy.

Gross profit is the financial gain of a company after deduction of the costs necessary to manufacture and distribute its goods or services.
Example: The more expensive items contribute less GROSS PROFIT, but this is made up for by cheaper items.
