- 1. Active cooling
- A heat-reducing mechanism that is typically implemented in electronic devices and indoor buildings to ensure proper heat transfer and circulation from within.
- air compressor
- An air compressor is a machine that takes ambient air from the surroundings and discharges it at a higher pressure.
- axle
- A rod or spindle (either fixed or rotating) passing through the center of a wheel or group of wheels.
- ball screw
- A ball screw (or ballscrew) is a mechanical linear actuator that translates rotational motion to linear motion with little friction.
- bearing
- A bearing is a device to permit fixed direction motion between two parts, typically rotation or linear movement.
- CAD
- Computer-aided design.
- CAID
- Computer-aided industrial design.
- CNC
- A manufacturing method that automates the control, movement and precision of machine tools through the use of preprogrammed computer software, which is embedded inside the tools.
- coil spring
- A helical-shaped mechanical device that is close-wound or open-wound.
- dynamometer
- An instrument which measures the power output of an engine.
- fast fracture
- In structural engineering and material science, fast fracture is a phenomenon in which a flaw (such as a crack) in a material expands quickly,.
- gear coupling
- Designed to transmit torque between two shafts that are not collinear.
- heat transfer
- A form of energy transfer through conduction, convection, and/or radiation.
- hydrostatic
- Fundamental to hydraulics, the engineering of equipment for storing, transporting and using fluids.
- joule
- A measurement of energy or work.
- nanotechnology
- The engineering field focused on the study, development and refinement of materials at a very small scale.
- normal stress
- The force applied to an object divided by its cross-section area.
- resistor
- An electrical component that limits or regulates the flow of electrical current in an electronic circuit.
- thermodynamics
- The study of the relations between heat, work, temperature, and energy.
- torque
- A force that acts on a body through a lever arm.
