I made this glossary because not everyone knows about some therms in the cinematography's univers.
- aspect ratio
- The ratio of the width to the height of an image or screen.
- B-movie
- A low budget movie, almost always go straight to streaming and video.
- body double
- A stand-in for a movie actor used during stunt or nude scenes.
- box-office
- A place at a theatre of other arts establishment where tickets are bought or reserved.
- dissolve
- A editing technique used to transition between shots, that bridge two scenes together.
- indie movie
- A feature film or short film that is produced outside the major film studio system in addition to being produced and distributed by independent entertainment companies
- limited release
- Limited theatrical release is a film distribution strategy of releasing a new film in a few theaters across a country.
- mainstream
- The ideas, attitudes, or activities that are regarded as normal or conventional.
- motion picture

- pan shot
- A horizontal camera movement where the camera pivots left of right while it's base remains in a fixed location.
- parallel cinema
- A certain type of films that stay way from conventions of popular mainstream cinema.
- pratical effect
- A practical effect is a special effect produced physically, without computer-generated imagery or other post-production techniques.
- producer
- A person who oversees film production, plan and coordinate various aspects.
- prop
- A prop is considered to be anything movable or portable on a stage or a set, distinct from the actors, scenery, costumes, and electrical equipment.
- scream queen
- An actress who is prominent and influential in horror films, either through a notable appearance or recurring roles.
- sequence
- A particular order in which related events movements, or things follow each other.
- shot list
- The document that breaks down a script into every camera shot.
- slasher
- A horror movie, especially one in which victims are slashed with knives and razors.
- theatrical
- Someone having qualities suggestive of a stage play or of an actor's performance.
- voiceover
- A piece of narration in a movie not accompanied by an image of the speaker.
