My name is Stephanie Motard. I have been in this program for three years now. This glossary will be for any students who are in the same program has me and for the people who are interested in this field.
My topic is around medical tools and terms. The knowledge of these words could help escape some unwanted situations. My glossary will have twenty terms with definitions, how to pronounce the word, images from Wikipedia Commons, translation to French, and example sentences from the Lextutor Concordancer.

Example: General anesthesia has the advantage of improved AIRWAY control and patient comfort during prolonged operations.

Example: Max had called an AMBULANCE and brought Joseph to A&E to have his wound tended to.

blood pressure

The pressure of the blood in the circulatory system, often measured for diagnosis since it is closely related to the force and rate of the heartbeat and the diameter and elasticity of the arterial walls.
Example: Vascular degeneration associated with ageing delays but does not prevent the maintenance of BLOOD PRESSURE.

A neurological scale that aims to give a reliable, objective way of recording the conscious state of a person for initial as well as subsequent assessment.
Example: Level of confusion, disorientation and consciousness should be regularly assessed with GLASGOW COMA SCALE.

Example: Management Investigations Monitor VITAL SIGNS (such as pulse, blood pressure, electrolytes and temperature) to ensure that she doesn't develop any post-operative complications such as a blood clot.
