This glossary explains some of the most frequently encountered terms related to Police Technology. As it is a very complex subject, I'm sure this will help with your comprehension! It contains 20 terms, all of which are pronounced, defined, used in a sentence, and more. I thought of the most frequently seen terms by myself. I found all the definitions online. Seize (someone) by legal authority and take into custody.

Authority

Authority is the statutory or policy-vested right to give commands, enforce obedience, initiate action, and make necessary decisions. Authority may be delegated by those so designated. Acts performed without proper authority or authorization shall be considered in violation of this manual, and those persons in violation shall be subject to disciplinary action.
Example: The police officers have authority.

Chain of command
