Hi, my name is Carmen and welcome to the glossary that I made for the first year students like me in the Medical Ultrasound Program. It was my third year in the technique and the last year at the college. I want to make a glossary that could help the new students in the program. There for, this is some words that I found from our English book, the power point of my teachers of the technique and the internet.

aerosol
noun
A colloidal suspension of particles dispersed in air or gas.
Example: A natural aerosol can be the means of spreading contagious agents.

noun
Representation of information on the image that comes from echoes that do not correspond to an actual anatomical structure which is sometimes useful in determining a structure.
Example: The posterior acoustic shadowing and posterior enhancement are some useful artifacts in medical ultrasound.

Free from contamination caused by harmful bacteria, viruses, or other microorganisms.
Example: Surgeons use aseptic techniques to minimize the risk of infection.
