central processing unit (CPU)
The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is the computer’s “control center.” It runs the operating system and apps, processing and executing instructions from hardware and software.
Example: Imagine your computer is a brain. The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is like the brain’s control center, making sure everything works. When you play a game, the CPU reads instructions from the game (software) and tells the computer what to do (processes and executes instructions).
information system
An information system uses technology to collect, process, store, and share data, helping people communicate and manage information efficiently.
Example: TikTok, as an information system, lets users upload, process, and share videos, recommending content based on interactions using phones and the app.
