This glossary is about word that are featured in my future job. They are 20 words that means different things. All of the definitions had been found on the internet. It will help to understand material that we use every day and parts of the body.
Ascending aorta
Nouns or adjective
The ascending aorta is the beginning portion of the largest blood vessel in your body. It carries oxygen-rich blood from your heart to the rest of your aorta. Your two main coronary arteries branch off of the ascending aorta.
Example: It is for pumping the blood.

Automatic Defibrillator
Nouns
An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a lightweight, portable device. It delivers an electric shock through the chest to the heart when it detects an abnormal rhythm and changes the rhythm back to normal.
Example: It helps for reanimated patient.

Cervical Collar
Nouns
A cervical collar, also known as a neck brace, is a medical device used to support and immobilize a person's neck. It is also applied by emergency personnel to those who have had traumatic head or neck injuries, and can be used to treat chronic medical conditions.

Epiglottis
Noun
The epiglottis is flap of cartilage located in the throat behind the tongue and in front of the larynx. The epiglottis is usually upright at rest allowing air to pass into the larynx and lungs. When a person swallows the epiglottis folds backward to cover the entrance of the larynx so food and liquid do not enter the windpipe and lungs. After swallowing the epiglottis returns to its original upright position.
Example: It’s a trap that opens and close in your throat tubes.

Esophagus
Noun
Your esophagus is a hollow, muscular tube that carries food and liquid from your throat to your stomach. Muscles in your esophagus propel food down to your stomach. One of the most common symptoms of esophagus problems is heartburn, a burning sensation in the middle of your chest.

Handheld Radio
Nouns
A handheld transceiver (HT), more commonly known as a walkie-talkie, is a handheld radio transmitter/receiver device used for two-way communication based on shortwave radio technology. Handheld transceivers are commonly used by police officials and medical staff. It consumes little power and is battery operated, which makes it a convenient and inexpensive communication method.

Heart
Noun
A hollow muscular organ that pumps the blood through the circulatory system by rhythmic contraction and dilation. In vertebrates there may be up to four chambers (as in humans), with two atria and two ventricles.
Example: The heart is the mean organ that is keeping you alive.

Noun or adjective
Any self-regulating process by which biological systems tend to maintain stability while adjusting to conditions that are optimal for survival.
Example: It’s a regulation of are body when there is a problem.

Ibuprofen
Noun or adjective
It fights pain and lowers fever. Its anti-inflammatory properties are manifested in high doses. It is used in the short-term treatment of fever and pain (headache, dental pain, flu, aches, painful periods...).
Example: It’s a medication to help patient to feel better.

Immobiliser Mattress

Spinal immobilisation involves the use of a number of devices and strategies to stabilise the spinal column after injury and thus prevent spinal cord damage. The practice is widely recommended and widely used in trauma patients with suspected spinal cord injury in the pre‐hospital setting.

Nasal Cavity
Noun
The space inside the nose. The nasal cavity lies above the bone that forms the roof of the mouth and curves down at the back to join the throat. It is divided into two sections called nasal passages.

Oxygen Mask
Noun
A device, worn over the nose and mouth, to which oxygen is supplied from a cylinder or other source: used to aid breathing.

Pressure Switch
Noun
A pressure switch is a form of switch that operates an electrical contact when a certain set fluid pressure has been reached on its input. The switch may be designed to make contact either on pressure rise or on pressure fall.
Example: It’s a tool to make sure the patient pressure is normal.

Spinal Cord
Noun
A column of nerve tissue that runs from the base of the skull down the center of the back. It is covered by three thin layers of protective tissue called membranes. The spinal cord and membranes are surrounded by the vertebrae (back bones).

Acoustic device amplifying sounds, used for auscultation.
Example: It’s a tool to examine the breathing of the lungs or the beat of the heart.

Noun
A framework of two poles with a long piece of canvas slung between them, used for carrying sick, injured, or dead people.
Example: It’s for transportation.

Noun
A transport stretcher chair serves as an all-purpose chair, given that it can transform from chair to flat, and vice versa. Transport stretcher chairs can bring ease and comfort to the patient and care providers, with smooth hydraulics controlling the motion of the stretcher.
