The medical imaging is a rich and a very diverse field. My glossary summarizes some interventions that we do in our department. It will be my memory aid where I can write new therms especially what we can do as a technologist.
Angiography

is a medical imaging technique used to visualize the inside, or lumen of blood vessels and organs of the body, with particular interest in the arteries, veins
Example: Therefore, coronary angiographiy can accurately predict IRA potency, leading to a prognosis for failed successful perfusion.

Barium enema

Barium enemas are an X-ray exam that can detect changes or abnormalities in the large intestine (colon)
Example: Double contrast BARIUM ENEMA : Usually reveals the growth as either a stricture or a filling defects (apple-core deformity). However, it is important to remember that a negative BARIUM ENEMA doesn't definitely exclude the presence of a small tumor, particularly in the presence of extensive diverticulitis.

Cholangiography

Cystography is an imaging test that can help diagnose problems in your bladder. It uses X-rays. They may be X-ray pictures or fluoroscopy, a kind of X-ray "movie." During cystography, the healthcare provider will insert a thin tube called a urinary catheter and inject contrast dye into your bladder.

Esophageal Atresia

is a special x-ray procedure. It uses contrast (x-ray dye) to look at the blood flow in your fistula or graft.

Galactography

is an x-ray examination that uses mammography, a low-dose x-ray system for examining breasts, and a contrast material to obtain pictures, called galactograms, of the inside of the breast's milk ducts.
Example: An x-ray exam helps doctors diagnose and treat medical conditions. It exposes you to a small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body.

Intestinal obstruction
A partial or complete block of the small or large intestine that keeps food, liquid, gas, and stool from moving through the intestines in a normal way.
Example: the four cardinal symptoms of INTESTINAL OBSTRUCTION are: Colicky abdominal pain Vomiting Absolute Constipation Distension The first three symptoms have been illustrated in the history and so the distension can be looked for on examination , however not all of these 4 features need to be present in a case of INTESTINAL OBSTRUCTION.

Morton's neuroma

is a benign (non-cancerous) tumor of a nerve. It is not actually a tumor, but a thickening of the tissue that surrounds the digital nerve leading to the toes.
Example: Anything that causes compression or irritation of the nerve can lead to the development of a Morton's neuroma

Osteomalacia

Plantar fasciitis

Urography
Urography is an examination used to evaluate the kidneys, ureters and bladder. Excretory urography, also known as intravenous pyelogram, is performed using conventional x-ray after the intravenous administration of radiographic contrast material.
