11 describe the objects, words, expressions used in a gym in a clear way terms
This glossary was created because for some time, I go to the gym to get in shape and I don't understand all the terms used. Writing this glossary will allow me to better understand certain terms and maybe with this one I could learn new things
Bench
noun or verb
The Bench is a very difficult pushing exercise because of the weight.
Example: Let's go Bench today, it's still chest day.

Cardio
noun
In the gym, this refers to use of the treadmills, bicycles and ellipticals.
Example: I know it's leg day but I want to do some cardio.

Dumbbell
noun
Dumbbells are free weight equipment, usually 10-16 inches in length with weights on both sides.
Example: Go put some plates somewhere else, I'll go get the dumbbells.

Kettlebell
noun
A kettlebell is usually a steel ball with a handle attached to its top.
Example: I'm gonna go get some kettlebells.

Plank
noun
Planking is a core strengthening exercise (abs exercise).
Example: I'm going to do the plank to work the abs.

Plate
noun
Plates refer to the disc-shaped weight plates that you load onto a barbell.
Example: Go take some plates I'll clean the bench.

Pre-Workout
noun
Pre-workout is a supplement taken before workouts to give you fiery strength and monstrous energy.
Example: This guy is new at the gym and he already takes pre-workout?

Reps
noun
Short for “repetitions.” Reps refers to the number of times you perform an exercise within a set.
Example: Come on man! You can do more than 12 reps.

Rest
noun
This is less like a nap and more like a strategic break. In between each set, you rest for a short period of time.
Example: After this set, you can rest three minutes.

Sets
noun
A set is a cycle. You will perform a number of reps for each set, and you will perform a number of sets for each exercise.
Example: You do 4 sets of 12 reps for Bench.

Spotter
noun
A person keeping a close eye on the lifter so he can grab their bar if they fail his rep.
Example: Hey mate, Can I ask you to be my spotter?
