This glossary was made during my 3rd semester of double degree in Law, Economics, Management and applied Foreign Languages.
The vocabulary in this glossary consists of 20 English terms related to business, law and the environment.
I made this glossary with the help of texts studied in the course of Applied English Translation and from my personal readings. I used "Cambridge Dictonary" and "Merriam-webster" dictionary for the definitions. To better understand the use of the words and to give examples, I used "Linguee" and "Reverso". I also did some research on the website "Energy education". I found all pictures on "Google photos".
Breach
Noun
An act of breaking a law, promise, agreement, or relationship.
Example: Any breach of this rule will be subject to immediate prosecution.

Commitment
Noun
A promise or firm decision to do something.
Example: The company has failed to honour its commitments.

Corner the market
Idiom
To dominate a particular market.
Example: Amazon more or less corners the online retailing market.

Adjective
Large companies that have a lot of influence in the economy.
Example: He is one of the most powerful men in corporate America.

Embezzlement
Noun
Theft of documents or money that is usually in your care or that belongs to an organization or business you work for.
Example: A complaint for financial fraud and embezzlement is filed against him.

Endanger
Verb
To put someone or something in a situation in which it is likely to be harmed, damaged, or destroyed.
Example: Revealing that information might endanger our national security.

Verb
To realize, understand or plan something in advance or before it happens.
Example: They foresee realizing a monthly profit of 20,000 FCFA per person.

Behaviour or activities that make people believe that a company is doing more to protect the environment than it really is.

Miscarriage of justice
Noun
A situation in which someone is punished by the law courts for a crime that they have not committed.
Example: This is an outrageous miscarriage of justice.
