Example: he performed a political balancing act, making gestures towards the left as well as the right
Beneficial
Adjective
resulting in good; favourable or advantageous.
Example: The beneficial effect on the economy

Verb
to have something very good or very bad at the end of an event
Example: And it fears spending could soon be capped by the Government.
Census
Noun
an official count or survey, especially of a population
Example: We have a census in this country every ten years.
Commodity
Noun
anything that can be bought and sold
Example: In the process, it defined social equality as the access to material commodities
Controversial
Adjective
giving rise or likely to give rise to controversy or public disagreement
Example: They hold widely divergent opinions on controversial issues like abortion
Debts
Noun
something, especially money, that is owed to someone else, or the state of owing something
Example: He managed to pay off his debts in two years.
The company ran up huge debts.
They are in debt to (= owe money to) the bank.
He got into debt (= borrowed money) after he lost his job.
The company is deep in debt (= owes a lot of money).

the state of being without money, food, a home, or possessions
Example: They both died in poverty and destitution.
