The purpose of this glossary is to know words that are used within the specialty of graphic design. In addition to expanding our vocabulary in general and to acquire new knowledge both in our mother tongue and in this new language we are learning.

Example: The little figure that you can just see in the background of the photograph is me.

Color Palettes
Adjective
It is the set of tones chosen to be used in an illustration, graphic piece, web page or even for your Instagram feed.
Example: Her color palette mixes muted natural tones

Combination of Colors
Noun
It refers to making a contrast that produces harmony between them. The important thing is that the set of colors used give a good visual impression. Everything will depend on the space, the good taste in the selection and above all what you want to convey with it.
Example: This stylish 3D TV can be controlled with an iPad and comes in 12 colour combinations.

Degree of difference between the lightest and darkest parts of a picture
Example: Contrast is the degree of difference between the darker and lighter parts of a photograph, television picture, or painting.

The partial or total absence of light.
Example: She stared into the early darkness of a thick cloud cover.

Emotional Impact
Noun
Changes in behavior, thoughts, or emotions that appear or are intensified as a result of experiencing some type of situation involving intense, significant, or prolonged loss, harm, or threat.
Example: The interview examines the development of the patient's episode, the history of the illness, and the emotional impact of the disorder on the family.

Noun
Is the power to have a major effect on someone or something. If someone influences another person, they are changing a person or thing in an indirect but important way.
Example: This work aims to highlight the influence of the scale of reproduction of geometric details on models during wind tunnel tests.

The state of having a sufficient or considerable amount of natural light.
Example: Default render gamma correction at 2.0, and shadow lightness reduced to 25% .

A trend is a general direction in which something is changing, developing, or turning. The term can also mean a fad.

A user is a person or thing that uses something such as a place, facility, product, or machine.
Example: The User assumes any and all risk of damage, injury, or death, from use of the Contents.

Web design is a Web development process for creating a website that focuses on aesthetic factors like layout, user interface and other visual imagery in order to make the website more visually appealing and easy to use.
Example: Any web design needs to look authoritative, convey the correct messages and download with optimum speed.
