Recidivism
Noun
Recidivism is the act of a person repeating a behavior that comes to the attention of the criminal justice system either after having already experienced negative consequences as a result of engaging in that behavior, or after having already been treated to stop that behavior. Recidivism is also used to refer to the percentage of former prisoners who are rearrested, convicted or incarcerated.
