1 Terms used in the field of corrections terms

These are terms that I will need to know as a correctional officer.

Penitentiary

Noun

A penitentiary is a public institution, either at the state or federal level, which holds offenders against the law.

Example: The penitentiary in London, Ontario is a maximum security institution.
