I'm making this glossary to learn new words and have a better understanding of business English terms.
a complaint

The complaint is the legal action in which one party (the plaintiff) sues another party (the defendant)
Example: Federal civil cases begin with the filing of a complaint.

abuse of power

Abuse of power means the use by an official of his or her vested authority to improperly benefit another official, person or entity or using such power to improperly discriminate against another official, person or entity.
Example: Abuse of power is different from usurpation of power, which is an exercise of authority that the offender does not actually have.

Accreditation systems and standards

It's an independent recognition that an organization meets the requirements of governing industry standards.
Example: It is important to remember that we live by an accreditation system with reference to the norms and standards.

anti-competitive conduct

Anti-competitive practices are business or government practices that prevent or reduce competition in a market. Antitrust laws differ among state and federal laws to ensure businesses do not engage in competitive practices that harm other, usually smaller, businesses or consumers.
Example: Horizontal restraints regard anti-competitive behaviour that involves competitors at the same level of the supply chain.

An application developer is a professional who designs, creates, deploys and updates programs for a particular device, the web or a specific operating system. Developers typically specialize in one area of development, such as mobile phone applications.
Example: Application development is a collaborative process and many work on teams with others to design, develop and program applications or software successfully.

Example: This hotel offers eco-certified cleaning products.

Federal courts are courts of limited jurisdiction, meaning they can only hear cases authorized by the United States Constitution or federal statutes.
Example: Federal courts hear cases involving the constitutionality of a law, cases involving the laws and treaties of the U.S. ambassadors and public ministers, disputes between two or more states, admiralty law, also known as maritime law, and bankruptcy cases.

greenwashing

Greenwashing is the process of conveying a false impression or misleading information about how a company’s products are environmentally sound. Greenwashing involves making an unsubstantiated claim to deceive consumers into believing that a company’s products are environmentally friendly or have a greater positive environmental impact than they actually do.
Example: Greenwashing is deceitful and unethical because it misleads investors and consumers that are genuinely seeking environmentally friendly companies or products.

Example: The primary service rendered by a law firm is to advise clients (individuals or corporations) about their legal rights and responsibilities, and to represent clients in civil or criminal cases, business transactions, and other matters in which legal advice and other assistance are sought.

Electricity generation is the process of generating electric power from sources of primary energy.
Example: The fundamental principles of power generation were discovered in the 1820s and early 1830s by British scientist Michael Faraday.

recycled fabric

Textiles made of natural or synthetic fibres are not just used for clothes but also used in homes, hospitals, workplaces, vehicles, in form of cleaning materials, as leisure equipment, or protective wear and so on. If these textiles are sorted, graded and reused again to make fabrics for different end uses it is called as recycled fabric.
Example: Recycled polyester fabrics can also come from used polyester fabrics where the recycling process starts by cutting the polyester garments into small pieces.

it means methods and measures aimed at reducing the likelihood or the risk of persons using the road network getting involved in a collision or an incident that may cause a lot of damage.
Example: Citizens were asked to put up road safety signs on their lawns.

sourcing is the process of selecting suppliers to provide the goods and services you need to run your business
Example: Suppliers should be careful when sourcing raw materials.

A statement (in business we call it a "company statement") should clarify who are the customers you serve, what products and services you offer, and your business or service location.
Example: The income statement shows the revenue and expenses of the company over a period of time.

In a branding context, mottos serve as a front-facing encapsulation of a given company’s values. For example, Chevron Editing’s motto is: Cogent. Conscientious. Committed.
Example: Our motto isn’t tied to our services, our industry or even the benefits we want to deliver – it’s an internal compass as much as an external one, designed to guide how we operate from a moral standpoint.

The British Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is the UK's principal authority responsible for competition and consumer protection. It enforces competition and market regulation by investigating cases, providing rulings, issuing penalties, and supporting government and other market regulators.
Example: The CMA ensures that UK businesses can compete fairly with each other.

Example: Traditionally, the spinning reserve is a concept for large synchronous generators.
