This glossary is about my future field of work, in zootherapy. It contains twenty words and definition that could help you, if you decide to go into that field. Those words are about what are the effect of zootherapy on the brain, how we need to act as the patient or as the person in charge and what type of client we might need to help. Finally, there is also words that explain the processes of finding which animal is the best suited for a patient according to his/ her personality and need.
Adaptation

Autism

Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) generally describes a cluster of complex brain development disorders. These disorders are characterized by challenges in social interaction, communication, and repetitive behaviors. The autism spectrum includes autistic disorder, Rett syndrome, and Asperger syndrome.

Endorphins are produced to help relieve pain, reduce stress and improve mood. Endorphins can be boosted by exercising, eating, having sex, getting a massage and many other ways.

Organization

The action of organizing something. An organized body of people with a particular purpose, especially a business, society, association, etc.
Example: We need to have organization to succeed in this field.

Oxytocin

An Oxytocin is a hormone that’s produced in the hypothalamus and released into the bloodstream by the pituitary gland. The main function is to facilitate childbirth, which is one of the reasons it is called the "love drug" or "love hormone."
Example: When a mother breastfeeds her baby, oxytocin, a stimulating hormone, is produced.

Palliative

A palliative cares supports people who are living with a life-threatening illness, condition, or health situation. Palliatives care can be provided to people of any age, in any setting, by healthcare providers, family members, and other caregivers. Palliatives care might also be referred to as comfort care, supportive care, or symptom management.
Example: Ideal management plan Symptom control: maintain PALLIATIVE care, minimize neurological symptoms.
