Mediational tool
A term coined by Lev Vygotsky (Wertsch, 1985) who suggested that the primary tools of activities, represented in signs and symbols, acted as agents for, and subsequently provided definition for, culture, and served as intervening links to consciousness.
Networking
Nuts and bolts
The practical facts about a particular thing, rather than theories or ideas about it.
Scaffolding
A structure of metal poles and wooden boards put against a building for workers to stand on when they want to reach the higher parts of the building.

Websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking.

The idea that knowledge develops as a result of social interaction and language use, being better than an individual experience.
