ABCs
airway, breathing, and circulation
Example: We have to verify the ABC
ABO blood groups
four blood groups formed by the presence or absence of two antigens known as A and B. A person may have either (type A or type B), both (type AB), or neither (type O). An immune response will be activated whenever a person receives blood containing A or B antigen if this antigen is not already present in his own blood
Example: The ABO blood groups are a greatway to prevent diseases of transmitted blood, since the same blood group should be able to enter another one's same blood.

blood-brain barrier
tight junctions of the capillary endothelial cells in the central nervous system vasculature through which only non-protein-bound, highly lipid-soluble drugs can pass.
Example: Alcohol cells can pass through the blood-brain barrier, but protein cells cannot unless they are with special travelling proteins.
brain ischemia
injury to brain tissues caused by an inadequate supply of oxygen and nutrients
Example: He died of a brain ischemia, his cells are necrosed.

bronchophony
abnormal clarity of patient's transmitted voice sounds
Example: We have to thicken his blood since his blood is into a bronchonphonial state.

bursitis
acute or chronic inflammation of the small synovial sacs
Example: Bursitis is a painfu disease.

capillary
one of the minute blood vessels that connect the ends of arterioles with the beginnings of venules; where oxygen is diffused to body tissue and products of metabolism enter the bloodstream
Example: His capillaries are blocked by grease.

capnography
a recording or display of the measurement of exhaled carbon dioxide concentrations
Example: Plug in the capnography, we are ready to intubate.

cardiac arrest
the absence of ventricular contraction
Example: He once suffered from a cardiac arrest.

cardiac monitor
machine that displays and records the electrical activity of the heart
Example: My brother is on a cardiac monitor. Never drink energy drinks.

cardiogenic shock
shock caused by insufficient cardiac output; the inability of the heart to pump enough blood to perfuse all parts of the body
Example: The patient died of a cardiogenic shock.

cartilage
connective tissue providing the articular surfaces of the skeletal system
Example: Cartilage prevents soreness and joint pain.

catabolism
the destructive phase of metabolism in which cells break down complex substances into simpler substances with release of energy
Example: An example of catabolism is when complex sugar molecules are broken into simple molecular glucosis.

cell membrane
also plasma membrane; the outer covering of a cell
Example: The cellular membrane protects the parts of the cell.

cellular immunity
immunity resulting from a direct attack of a foreign substance by specialized cells of the immune system
Example: The cellular immunity prevents the body from necrosis.

cellular telephone system
telephone system divided into regions, or cells, that are served by radio base stations
Example: The cllular telephonic system is a great way to communicat events and problems across the region.

cervical collar
A cervical collar, also known as a neck brace, is a medical device used to support a person's neck. It is also applied by emergency personnel to those who have had traumatic head or neck injuries, and can be used to treat chronic medical conditions.
Example: Get the cervical collar, we have to immobilize someone !

combitube
The Combitube—also known as the esophageal tracheal airway or esophageal tracheal double-lumen airway—is a blind insertion airway device (BIAD) used in the pre-hospital and emergency setting. It is designed to provide an airway to facilitate the mechanical ventilation of a patient in respiratory distress
