A glossary of the terms used throughout the MEH program and future positions in the same field of study.
Bleed
Noun
an instance of printing an illustration, design, or text to the edge of the page.
Example: Don't forget to put BLEED on your document otherwise the image will not reach the border of the page.

Blend
Verb
merge (a color) with another so that one is not clearly distinguishable from the other.
Example: Try BLENDING these two colors, you'll use less shades instead.

make or become unclear or less distinct.
Example: Try to BLUR the background of this picture to emphasize on the object in the foreground

Crop
Verb
remove part of (a photograph or other image) in order to produce a better picture or to fit a given space.
Example: These pictures need to be CROPPED to fit a phone screen.

Noun
a set of type of one particular face and size.
Example: This FONT will give this paragraph more importance than this one.

a passing of one color to another one
Example: Try using a GRADIANT to ease the transition between these colors.

gives information about colors including color models (RGB, HSL,HSV and CMYK), Triadic colors, monochromatic colors and analogous colors calculated in color page
Example: Write the HEX color code over the color so it can be reproduced later.

Hypertext Markup Language, a standardized system for tagging text files to achieve font, color, graphic, and hyperlink effects on World Wide Web pages.

Noun
a symbol or graphic representation on a screen of a program, option, or window, especially one of several for selection.
Example: I have designed the ICONS for this company's applications.

Landscape
Noun
a format of image wider than it is taller.
Example: Keep in mind that the document must be made in LANDSCAPE since most pistures in it will be wider than taller.

random fluctuations that obscure or do not contain meaningful data or other information.

random fluctuations that obscure the quality of a picture.
Example: The NOISE in the picture took by this camera is worst than the one took from this camera.

a system for matching colors, used in specifying printing inks.
Example: Dont forget to show the client the PANTONE samples.

Pixel
Noun
a minute area of illumination on a display screen, one of many from which an image is composed.
Example: The PIXELS around this person clearly indicates the picture was photoshopped.

Portrait

a format of image taller than it is wider
Example: Keep in mind that the document must be made in PORTRAIT since most pistures in it will be taller than wider.

Noun
process (an outline image) using color and shading in order to make it appear solid and three-dimensional.
Example: The file is ready for RENDER, but we will need a more powerful computer.

an automated series of instructions carried out in a specific order.
Example: Use this SCRIPT to avoid repititing the same steps.

Verb
cut (something) with scissors or shears, typically with small quick strokes.

Take a screenshot.
Example: SNIP that webpage, we will use it for the mockup. OR. Please SNIP this part of printed document.

writing paper, especially with matching envelopes.
Example: This STATIONERY is particularly colorful, but not really professional for the use we have planned.

a small sample of color, ink or fabric to use later or to demonstrate it.
Example: Take a SWATCH of this color to stay consistent through its use.

denoting a type of graphical representation using straight lines to construct the outlines of objects.
Example: If you want the image to keep its dimensions, you must make it a VECTORIAL image.
