- Noun
- The official name for the novel coronavirus disease that emerged in China in 2019. COVID-19 is an acronym – COronaVIrus Disease-2019.
- Example: The area will be closed on Tuesday after the parent of two students tested positive for COVID-19.

- Noun
- Any feeling of illness or physical or mental change that is caused by a particular disease.
- Example: The most common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough and sore throat.
