Amplifier / Amp
Noun
It is a tool that helps us increase the intensity, volume or amplitude of an audio or sound.
Example: Turn up the volume with the amp.

Analog to Digital Converter / ADC
Noun
It is a device that allows us to change an analog signal of voltage or current to a digital signal, normally used in computers or sound or video recorders.
Example: Having the ADC on my computer has made my job easier.

Attenuator
Noun
It is one that helps reduce the intensity or strength of a sound signal when it is transmitted.
Example: It sounds better because I use the attenuator.

Audio Filter
Noun
These are devices that attenuate the part of the signal that we are not interested in preserving.
Example: Put an audio filter to leave the bass.

It is a hardware device that serves as a tool to go from an analog or acoustic signal to a digital one, it manages the inputs, outputs and audio processing.

Noun
It is a device that serves as a tool to balance or process different sound sources.
Example: That can be modified in the console.

Decibel
Noun
It is a unit of measurement to identify the intensity of a sound.
Example: You have to calibrate the decibels so that it doesn't sound bad.

Noun
It is the effect of delay and multiplication of a sound signal, this causes the phenomenon of echo to occur when it is put into the original mix.
Example: If you use delay it will sound better

Digital Audio Workstation / DAW
Noun
This is a system in which recording and digital audio (recording, editing, processing and mixing multiple audio tracks together) is worked.
Example: I downloaded a DAW that serves me for the production I want to do.

Digital to Analog Converter / DAC
Noun
They are devices that allow us to convert digital signals to analog signals and thus be able to transmit them through speakers.
Example: The DAC is a good tool for producers.

Distortion
Noun
It is the alteration or deformation that occurs to a signal when it passes through a system which changes its amplitude, phase or frequency.
Example: Distortion is used in guitar

They are frequencies that are multiples of a fundamental frequency, the amplitude decreases when the multiples are inverted.

It is an electronic filter that allows signals with a lower frequency than the determined one to pass, and attenuates the higher frequencies.
