15 Módulo de transferencia de calor e Inglés terms
This glossary tries to be a meeting point so that all readers can know at any time what we want to say or explain with the use of a specific term.
closed system
adjective
It is one that exchanges energy (heat and work) but not matter with the environment (its mass remains constant).
As the exchange that takes place between a system and its exterior can usually be thought of as a sum of exchanges of matter and energy, closed systems can be simply closed
Example: A pressure cooker.
es: sistema cerrado
Conduction
noun
The transfer occurs through direct contact between two material media and the particles that compose them, and when they are at different temperatures. The state of the materials can be gaseous, liquid or solid and there is no mass transfer between them.
Example: Ice in a bowl of hot water melts through conduction.
es: Conducción
Consist of
verb
Be composed or formed by one thing: the celebration consists of a dinner and a show. To be based, to be founded one thing on another: his fame consists of dedication and effort.
Example: The 120 combinations CONSIST OF 24 circuits for each starting city (12 circuits and their reverses).
es: Consiste en
Convection
noun
The transfer is carried out through the intervention of a moving fluid, which will be the one who transports the thermal energy from point A to point B. The fluid may be either gas, and the convection may be forced or natural.
Forced convection is generated by a fan or pump that by means of air or water will force the fluid to move through a hot area to acquire heat and transmit it to a cold area.
Example: The hand dryer or hair dryer, which transmit heat by forced convection.
es: Convección
Deal with
verb
Act, behave or proceed (a person) in a certain way in relation to others or animals.
Example: Implementation Objective 4: Within 9 months 100% of insurance sector employees will be trained to DEAL WITH all five policies (except Life).
es: Tratar con
Fixed mass
noun
We can say that "at constant pressure, the volume occupied by a fixed mass of gas is inversely proportional to the temperature".
Example: Most substances are present in a specific state, for example metals. The gaseous state is characterized by having a fixed mass
es: Masa fija
Heat Transfer
noun
Heat transfer is the process of propagation of heat in different media.
it is produced whenever there is a thermal gradient or when two systems with different
temperatures are brought into contact.
Example: Industries use this process to remove a large amount of water through heat. Heat transfer in this case is accompanied by mass transfer, by losing weight through evaporation.
es: Transferencia de calor
Inner surface
noun
the environment beneath the surface of the sea.
the human mind regarded as being as unknown or as unfathomable as space.
Example: the INNER SURFACE of the envelope, Matrix protein or M1 coats the entire surface, stabilising the particle structure.
es: Superficie interior
Internal energy
noun
Is defined as the energy associated with the random and disorderly motion of molecules. It is on a separate scale from the ordered macroscopic energy, which is associated with moving objects. It refers to the invisible microscopic energy of the atomic and molecular scale.
Example: The INTERNAL ENERGY of an ideal gas The addition of heat results in an increase in a substances internal molecular energy.
es: Energía interna
Mass transfer
noun
Mass transfer occurs when a substance is transferred through another or others on a molecular scale. This occurs when two substances with different chemical compositions come into contact.
Example: Issues can arise with agitation, heat or MASS TRANSFER and isolation when scaled larger, which are all key to manufacture.
es: Transferencia de masa
Open system
adjective
Open systems, on the other hand, are those that have a permanent relationship with their environment, exchanging matter and energy.
It can be said that the time evolution equations of the system are not endogenous, that is, they do not depend exclusively on properties linked to the same system: on the contrary, there are many variables outside of it that make up its characteristics.
Example: A forest.
A river.
An animal.
A bacterium.
es: Sistema abierto
Outer surface
noun
The outside part or uppermost layer of something. facade. surface. exterior.
Example: The Biochemistry Of PhotosynthesisLight- Dependent Reaction (Fig 3): In both C 3 and C 4 plants, the chlorophyll molecules are arranged in the membranes of the thylakoids so that the haem group projects from the OUTER SURFACE.
es: Superficie exterior
Radiation
noun
It is the process of heat emission from bodies due to their temperature. In this case there is no contact between bodies, but the transfer by radiation will be done whenever a body is at a higher temperature than the space in which it is.
Example: Solar ultraviolet radiation, precisely the process that determines the earth's temperature.
es: Radiación
Total energy
noun
The total energy of a system is the sum of kinetic and gravitational potential energy, and this total energy is conserved in orbital motion.
Example: Reducing your meat intake could result in a drastic reduction in protein intake; It also reduces TOTAL ENERGY Intake.
es: Energía total
Undergo
verb
Its definition is to come under the dominion or authority of someone, a community or a state by force by arms.
Another of his concepts is to give in or conform. This is someone accepting what another person or a circumstance imposes on them.
Example: But for the CLS scholars whether a case is decided by rules or principles there will be inconsistency in the law; so the legal system has to UNDERGO a change.
