algebra
noun
The branch of mathematics that deals with general statements of relations, utilizing letters and other symbols to represent specific sets of numbers, values, vectors, etc., in the description of such relations.
asymptote
noun
A straight line approached by a given curve as one of the variables in the equation of the curve approaches infinity.
calculator
noun
Also called calculating machine. a small electronic or mechanical device that performs calculations, requiring manual action for each individual operation.
cell
noun
A usually microscopic structure containing nuclear and cytoplasmic material enclosed by a semipermeable membrane and, in plants, a cell wall; the basic structural unit of all organisms.
chemistry

The science that deals with the composition and properties of substances and various elementary forms of matter.
derivative

Also called differential quotient; especially British, differential coefficient .Mathematics. The limit of the ratio of the increment of a function to the increment of a variable in it, as the latter tends to 0; the instantaneous change of one quantity with respect to another, as velocity, which is the instantaneous change of distance with respect to time.
energy
