- Electromagnetic radiation that cab be viewed by human eyes.
- Example: Light travels in a straight line.

- noun
- Luminance describes the amount of light that is emitted from, passed through, or reflected off an object.
- Example: If your eye is exposed to a high amount of luminance, it might damage it.

- opaque
- adjective
- Material that no light passes through.
- Example: The cardboard is opaque, so no light can pass through.

- penumbra
- noun
- The region which a shadow has a small portion of light source.
- Example: There are places in my shadow that still receives a small amount of light.

- noun
- The change of direction in a wave passing from one medium to another.
- Example: The spoon looks like that because of refraction.

- Made when light is blocked by an object.
- Example: My mug makes a huge shadow on the table.

- Example: I want to buy a translucent lamp for my living room.
