arrest
noun
seize (someone) by legal authority and take into custody.
Example: "the police arrested him for possession of marijuana".

noun
Police that are called in to support or help.
Example: "We're calling for back-up, she has a gun."

noun
Large amount of money that someone pays as a promise to appear in court.
Example: Your friend's bail is posted at $5000.

Enter or open a place, vehicle, or container forcibly, especially for the purposes of theft.
Example: I think someone broke into my car.

a person who is doing (or supposed to be doing) jail time.

Under police control
Example: The kidnapper is now into custody.

Delinquent
noun
A young offender.
Example: He was 13, a delinquent by all accounts.

noun
the action of detaining someone or the state of being detained in official custody, especially as a political prisoner.
Example: "one of the effects of police detention is isolation from friends and family".

Extortion
noun
Obtaining something, such as money, through force or by threats.
Example: His empire was built by doing extortion.

noun
A major crime.
Example: Murder is considered a felony and is punishable by life in prison.

Marks left by fingers that identify a person.
Example: We found fingerprints on the window.

Metal rings that attach to wrists to keep criminals (or the accused) from escaping.

Not responsible for the crime.
Example: We believe that you are innocent.

A person who enters a home or any place illegally.
Example: Someone called to report an intruder in their house.

Telling a lie whilst under oath.
Example: He committed perjury by lying to the court.

Prosecution

To conduct legal proceedings against an individual.
Example: He was prosecuted for manslaughter.

Verb
To bribe someone to commit an unlawful act.
Example: He tried to suborn witnesses to speak in his favor.
