20 Human Resources Management terms

Human resources are a set of people who make up the workforce of an organization, business sector, industry, or economy. They have many responsibilities related to the hiring, transferring, promoting and terminating employees in a company. When you want a job, and for example you apply somewhere, it's the team of human resources who will do all the work to make you have an interview and make sure everything go well until you're engaged. It's the same thing when you want to quit your job. Someone who works in human resources will also have to deal with the payroll and other administration task or will have to solve problem if there are personal problems between co-workers. Example: It is also intended to involve these section leaders in the standardization of insurance administration across the various types before the new processes are re-engineered and presented to the workforce.

Example: There are many factors that could affect the production of the division and it is wise to weigh the costs and benefits of all the alternatives available in order to decide which move will be most beneficial.

Example: In over employment, employees are expected to work more hours in competitive work environments.

The process of developing or being developed.
Example: Regional Government Offices for the Regions, Regional development Agencies, Regional Assemblies, Regional Chambers, regional quangos, regional interests.

The unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.
Example: In addition, the conditions associated with obesity is: Heart Disease, Diabetes, Cancer, Osteoarthritis, Gallstones, Lipid disorders, High blood pressure, Respiratory problems, Depression and Social discrimination.

employee
noun
A person employed for wages or salary, especially at non executive level.
Example: This will be caused by more regulations and guidelines from governments for companies and their employee's needs.

Obtain or secure (something desired, favorable, or profitable).
Example: We know that the rich often attempted to gain power, status and popularity through 'liturgies' (sponsoring certain events or projects that would benefit the city) which acted as examples of their generosity and worthiness of the public's trust.

A human being, especially a person as distinguished from an animal or (in science fiction) an alien.
Example: The Appellants argue that this contravenes Article 8(1) (Right to life) and 14 (Prohibition of Discrimination) of the European Convention of human Rights (ECHR).

An organized body of people with a particular purpose, especially a business, society, association, etc.
Example: The long-term health of an organization depends on having some products that generate cash and provide acceptable profits plus others that use cash to support growth.

Example: A study that I found particularly interesting was the one conducted by Krueger in 1991 8 titled "ownership's, agency, and wages: An examination of franchising in the fast food industry."

The effectiveness of productive effort, especially in industry, as measured in terms of the rate of output per unit of input.
Example: Backman noted that occupational therapists have defined occupational balance as a 'necessary or satisfactory balance across the performance areas of self-care, productivity and leisure' (2004:202), occupational imbalance being the opposite.
