3 reasons to study in Audio Engineering

A sound engineer is responsible for the operation of the soundboard and other equipment for recording music, words, sounds or any combination thereof. Today there are several types of engineering positions in studios. In large studios, there are usually several engineers, each with their own roles and contributions. There are sound engineers, recording assistants, setup engineers, maintenance engineers, and even mix engineers in some cases. In small studios, the engineer is usually responsible for all of these tasks. Typically, the engineer should be able to configure, use, and repair the equipment with which he works.

Going to music school puts you in a music environment which includes producers and musicians, and a kind of vibe you won't experience anywhere else. It allows you to befriend people who are also trying to do whatever you want to do and it can become something bigger. This is something that nothing else can replace and arguably the most important negative of skipping school. You can work on your social skills, but some of us are naturally better than others. With experience, I have personally learned the difference between connecting with people and making friends.

In the music industry, this is one of the most important for success. For producers and sound engineers, they need to be consistent on social media if they want to have some visibility or otherwise they won't make money. In the entertainment industry, music has dominated the entertainment industry because it has the ability to reach everyone. Music is widely distributed as it is found on the Internet, on media platforms such as radio and television, in live concerts, in churches and schools.

3. In-depth knowledge

Recording

During on-the-job training, the sound engineer takes care of the installation and preparation of the recording equipment (recorders, microphones, poles, cables, etc.). Their responsibilities also include configuring and adjusting the equipment for optimum sound quality. They are also in charge of supervising and dealing with any malfunctions that may arise during recording a song. For example, they need to make sure that the equipment will not fall and injure a musician on stage. If the sound engineer uses a ramp, he must ensure that the equipment will not be damaged during a grip (shocks or splashing liquids ...) and be aware of their shadow on a shoot.

The role of a Sound engineer is one which is vital in the reproduction and recording of a sound in a magnitude of applications. From working in a studio with artists and producers, through using the social media to gain some visibility, the role of a Sound Engineer can take many forms.
