A junior sales representative is usually an entry-level role in the sales function of an organization. A junior sales rep is responsible for generating leads, developing client relationships, and hitting their sales goals.
I have little experience, only few months. I worked as a salesperson in a clothing store during the two months of summer vacation in 2022. I did an internship in a company that sells surveillance cameras. Despite my little experience, I have acquired knowledge and skills in addition to my theoretical training in business management at Ahuntsic College.
Thanks to the experience I had, I was able to discover B2C (business to consumer) and B2B (business to business) sales. When I worked as a saleswoman in a clothing store, I learned how to lay out the items, do price tagging, collect payments, greet and advise customers. When I did my internship in a company, I was introduced to the basics of a salesman's job: prospecting, managing a portfolio of customers, analyzing and understanding the problems or needs of customers and proposing a solution adapted to their request, promoting a service or product offer.
My first professional experience was as a salesperson in a clothing store.
In the store where I worked, we were 5 saleswomen. We had difficulty motivating ourselves to work because there were few customers. To attract customers we decided as a team to find solutions. We came up with ideas, defined activities to do, organized a schedule and divided the tasks between us. Together we managed to attract enough customers to reach our sales target for the month.
When I worked as a saleswoman, I had to make 50 sales in a month. With my sales team, we made over 70 sales in a month.
I am an extremely determined person to succeed. If I can't do a task, I don't give up, I will find a way to succeed.
To be a junior sales representative means to reach your sales objectives, to be flexible and to have the determination to succeed in order to climb the hierarchy and become a salesperson.
I learned to work in teams at school to do presentations or projects. When I worked as a salesperson, I had to work with a team of 5 salespeople to ensure the proper management of the store.
I don't work well with those who are pretentious, think they have the knowledge and those who don't listen to others.
I often take criticism badly. But after thinking about it, I try to understand why I was criticized and whether it is necessary for me to change or not.
I feel comfortable in a structured, positive, caring and hardworking environment.
I like to plan my day and the tasks I'm going to do in advance. I usually start with the most complicated tasks in the morning because I perform better at the beginning of the day. I finish with the simplest and fastest tasks at the end of the day.
To accomplish a task that I have never done before, I would research, educate myself, to gain knowledge on the subject. I would ask people to help me if they have done this task before. Once I have the necessary knowledge, I carry out the task and show my work to my superiors to correct or not my mistakes.
I learned by observing, questioning professionals and taking into account the advice I was given.
When I was a saleswoman in a store, I had to advise and answer customers' questions. One day a customer was hesitant about the quality of one of our products. I tried to convince her by giving her arguments on the properties, composition, manufacturing and feedback from our customers on the product. We discussed for long minutes on the product, I made him test the product. At the end of our discussion, I proposed that she bought the product, that she test it, and that if she was not satisfied, she could return the product and ask for a refund. Finally, two months later, she came back to the store to buy a product of the same range.
To convince someone to change their mind, I think you have to use a different vocabulary from that person. Changing the vocabulary, will bring new ideas and a different thought pattern to that person. It is also necessary to give him examples and evidence, so that he is in mind of concrete things.
I am a very organized person, structured, I like to make a thoughtful and quality work. I am adaptable and flexible. I have good communication skills. I know how to listen to others and help them.
I see myself sharing my ideas and opinions with my team. Listening to each other, understanding their point of view. Working in a structured and organized way.
