Accounting Assistants support the Accounting department by performing clerical tasks, including processing and recording transactions, preparing reports and budgets, fielding communications with clients and vendors, fact checking, filing, and other duties, as needed.
I have been working at Hyundai Thetford since 2019 in the business domain. I was advising consumer for their new cars and explaining all the cars features when they were buying one. This is my only job experience in the domain.
I don't have any years of experience in this domain because I didn't have the chance to work in the accounting department in my last job. However, I have developed a lot of communications skills in my last jobs.
My first job has been timekeeping hockey games in various arenas in Thetford Mines. I started timekeeping in 2013.
While I was playing hockey, and we were in a tournament's finals, I had to motivate my team to put one last effort in the third period. After playing 4 or 5 games on the weekend, everybody was tired and a little bit slower on the ice. I had to push them to get their last once of power they had in the tank by telling them how we would be proud of ourselves winning the finals.
Being a very athletic person, I really had to surpass myself playing hockey and soccer. In hockey, I was an excellent goaltender and people had a lot of expectations for me. I had to work hard on and off the ice to bring my play to another level and I exceeded expectations by winning the award for the best goalie of the league 5 years in a row.
I am very logic person and I love to work knowing that my superiors have high expectations for me. I love to deliver a good and well-done work and I'm doing everything for it to happen.
Being an accounting assistant is, for me, is processing all the tasks and the accounting cycle correctly to help the accountant do his job. An accounting assistant is doing budget, financial statement and processing bills and duties.
I have been working in teams when I was referring soccer. I had to cooperate with my referee teammates to give the same information to players and to take good decisions. I also had to support my teammates in their decisions by defending them.
I do not work well with people who don't consider my opinion or my don't listen to the options I can bring to conversations. I like when everyone can give their opinions or ideas and when we choose the best one for the situation.
I usually don't like criticism, but in the past 2 years, I have learned to take these critics and put them to my advantages by learning from them. When I was younger, I didn't realize that people told this and that to help my become a better person, but now I do and I love to improve as a person.
I liked to be in an environment where you can work and be friendly with teammates. I don't like when everybody is doing its work without talking to anyone during the day. I love to be with dynamic people.
I usually plan my daily activities the day or the week before because I like to know where I'm going. After planning my activities, I usually plan my travelling between them the day before and I'm ready to go.
When being given a new task, I really want to know how other people work in different ways to choose which fits best for me. I like to know how to do task perfectly even before doing it the first time. Sometimes, it's slowing me because I want the perfection at first try, but it's my way to improve my work.
I really like to look and listen at my teammates. For example, at Hyundai Thetford, I was listening discretely to my seller co-workers to learn how to talk to consumer and how to sell them a vehicle. Doing this, I have learned how to advise clients. I have also done some research on the internet.
In one of my classes at Cegep de Thetford. I was doing a project for graduating students. I was directing the project but one of my colleagues decided to print the students' album at a printing house for a higher cost than printing it at Cegep de Thetford. I convince my colleagues to print it at Cegep, so we could save money and put it somewhere else.
I try to tell the person how I see the situation and what does my idea bring and benefits for that particular situation.
I would be of a great value to your company because I love to learn and to exceed expectations. I am a very logic person and I love to analyse the accounting cycle and process.
I see myself contributing to your team by bringing a dynamic work, a good working ethic and the best work I can do.
