What is it like to be a police officer?

Being a police officer is to offer protection and a constant prevention to the population to counter crime and acts of violence.

Where would you like to work as a police officer?

I would like, as a police officer I would like to work in the agglomeration of Montreal within the SPVM. The area is very open to cultural diversity, which is in my case.

Why did you choose that job?

I chose to be a police officer because I needed a job that allows me to move and be constantly in action. Also, I want to show others that as a person from a different culture I can try to create change in the level of discrimination that we experience more often these days.

Is it a popular job in your country?

Here in Canada being a police officer is not a popular choice of career because of the amount of hate that they receive due to the discrimination that the population emphasizes. Moreover, police officers are seen as a government forces which uses an abusive violence on its population.

Do you like your field of study?

In my case, I love my field of study because it fills all the psychological and physical spheres that I am looking for in a future job. I seek to be mentally stimulated by action that will occupy my body. I also seek to do good and help my society.

Do you get on well with your colleagues in your program?

In my program, I get along with everybody since we have the same interests. We are looking to do the same work in the future.

What was your first day like?

My first day at school in my field of study was interesting. I learned about the interesting subjects in my field of study. I met my study colleagues which may be my future work colleges. I enjoyed my first day and I integrated well.

What responsibilities do you have in your daily bases related to your field of study?

In my daily bases I need to be careful about what I do, what I consume, who I hang out with and how I act in order to maintain a good image of myself and meet the criteria required to work in a position of police.

If you had the chance, would you change your job?

I would not change my career choice in any way since I find everything I am looking for in a job that saves lives and helps people who need it the most.

Do you plan to continue with your job in the future?

I plan to continue with this job in the future because I feel good about the fact that I wouldn't necessarily be liked by everyone in the field of work that I chose. I am comfortable with the likelihood of danger I will face since it will fill my need for adrenaline.
