What is it like to be a policeman?

It is very honorable to be a policeman as you are serving the government and the society. A policeman makes sure the laws are respected and criminals are arrested. On top of that, policemen are the reason why we are living in a wonderful society where everyone is peaceful and can work and live without being physically or mentally hurt. Let’s never forget why policemen are waking each day for all of us.


What do policemen do?

Policemen prevent crime and give tickets to the disturbing drivers. Police new recruits often go in primary and high schools to spread preventive ways to counter some criminal behaviour like drug reselling and harassment. They also make sure the laws are respected as well.


What do policemen do on a typical day?

Policemen patrol in the city, and give tickets to people that doesn't follow the road rules. Also, they may go to the court if the arrested people want to debate on a given ticket. Not just that, apprentice policemen patrol near the parks on bicycles to make sure the atmosphere is kind and peaceful. Some high ranked police officers work at the police station in the administration and investigation.

Policemen workdays' start at the police station and are continued on the roads everywhere around the city.


How can I become a policeman?

To become a policeman, you have to take collegian courses in Police Technology for 3 years. After the collegian studies, you have to go to Nicolai’s Police School to pass more specific tests which are physical and mental tests. On top of that, you have to pass health tests to make sure you do well, and you can last a long time in your future career.


How much money do policemen make?

Policemen make roughly $35 an hour. After 6 years of hard work, this amounts of money can double if you get a higher ranked position in Police.


What kinds of additional training do policemen need?

Policemen need physical and psychological training to perform well in their career. They will need to develop self-defense and socializing skills to be able to control a crowd, for example, big manifestations. They have to know what to do in that and this scenario, so they can save more lives.


What are the dangers of being policeman?

Some people may not like you and will be aggressive just because you are a policeman. In some cases, group of terrorist and criminals might have weapons and use these to fight against you. You have to judge if certain situation can be handled by yourself or if you need more assistance.


What are the chances that policemen will be replaced by robots soon?

There're no chances that would happen soon.


What age do policemen retire at?

Policemen often retire after 20 years of work. Most policemen can retire at the age of 60. For example, my grandfather has been working since 25 years old, and now he is still working in a company that helps the Police to arrest criminals. He could retire if he wanted because he is 72 years old now, but he doesn’t want to stop working. He likes to work every day, and I am surprised by his devotion to his job.
