A paramedic can see everything and that's why they have to be ready for everything. It is very stressful to be a paramedic you have to be physically and emotionally strong to do this job.

Paramedics give immediate care to a person who has emergency health problem, they have to have a lot of knowledge because they can see everything. A paramedic can have a lot of different case in the same day, they can intervene in a car crash, a heart attack or even a child birth. They also have to take their patient to a hospital while giving them health care, when they arrive at the hospital they have to say what happened to the nurse at the hospital so she know what she is working with they also have to say what treatments they gave to the patient. Paramedics have to have a lot of empathy because they can have to deal with people that are dealing with the death of someone they love or someone that just tried to kill themselves.


What do paramedics do on a typical day?

Paramedics starts their day by checking if their ambulance is good to go on the road for the day, when they are good to go they go see a patient or they go wait somewhere and they are going to receive a call. They do all their call, it can be small case like an old person that fell or a big case like a big car crash. They bring patients to the hospital where they can see a doctor and they wait for an another call. A paramedic has lunch when he can if he has time and does not always finish on time. Paramedic have to work with violent people, a lot of sound, dangerous working space, difficult weather conditions.


Where do paramedics work?

A paramedic work where people need them so they can work in every condition, they often go in the house of people or in the road with can be dangerous because they never know what can happen. It happen often that paramedic have to go somewhere were the patient can be dangerous so police have to be there for their security. When a paramedic works in a region where their is less people, they can have to give health care to someone they know, witch can be very difficult.


How can I become a?

To become a paramedic in Quebec, you have to study 3 years at college to obtain their diploma, the studies are really hard because there is a lot to learn but it is really interesting. The real training is when they start working because working in class is not the same as working in a real scene.


How much money do paramedics make?

The minimal salary for a paramedic is 24$ per hours and the maximum salary is 35,60$ per hours in Quebec. This is the lowest salary of all the job in emergency and health in Quebec


What kinds of additional training do paramedics need?

A paramedic will have a lot of training troughs his career because the methods change often, when they find something that work better they have to change and do it the way that works the best so they will have lot of small training.


What are the dangers of being a?

There is a lot of dangers when you are a paramedics, you never know where you are going to work. You can have to work on a highway where car pass fast near you, you can also have to work on someone who has been shot and you don't know where is the shooter. You can also have to work with someone who is intoxicated and don't want help so they try to punch you and they are violant.


What are the chances that paramedics will be replaced by robots soon?

I don't think that paramedic can be replaced by robots, because you need to be able to work in every condition, witch robots can't do.


What age do paramedics retire at?

After ten years a lot of paramedic have stopped working on the road and have started working in something else in the same field.


Conclusion

In conclusion, being a paramedic is really hard and stressful, but at the end of the day a paramedic is proud of what he did. Paramedics save lives every day. Even if a call where your patient is a children can be stressful, when you know that you helped him there is something to be proud of.
