Pre-Hospital Emergency Care

Introduction

Paramedics work whatever the location of the call is.

How can I become paramedic?

3 years in a Pre-Hospital Emergency care program.

How much money do paramedics make?

Definitely not enough. We make the least amount of money compared to all other emergency responders. We are still doing a strike in 2022 trying to change that.

We don't really have additional training right after graduating but there is training to do when our protocols change.

What age do paramedics retire at?

Paramedics used to retire after 5 to 10 years due to back pains or other health issue. However, with proper postural hygiene, new tools and transportation principles, most paramedics retire much later. But with the pandemic in 2022, those numbers are reduced.

Conclusion

Even with all the downsides, being a paramedic could seem a really bad job to do, but we are fighting for better work conditions.
