They can work at different places. Most of them work at the hospital in the different department. For example, they can work in medicine, surgery, in psychology, at the operating room, in the pediatric department and many others. Some nurse also work at the CLSC where they go in their patient's house.


How can I become a nurse?

There are many ways to become a nurse. On of them is to go study Nursing at the CÉGEP. After, if you want, you can go to the university in nursing. The other way is to do your Natural Science, and after you can go to the university. Most of the nurses recommend study Nursing at the CÉGEP. You have more internship, and you know better how to do the cares to patients.


How much money do nurses make?

Your salary depends on where and when you work. Some departments have bonus on their salary. For example, you have a bonus if you work at the intensive care or in a CHSLD. You also have bonus on your salary when you work on the weekend, at night or in the evening. It will also depend on your degree of study. For example, a nurse with a baccalaureate will earn more money. The salary is around $25 and $45 per hour or around $69 000.


What are the dangers of being a nurse?

The dangers of the jobs depend on witch clientele you are working with. For example, you can encounter aggressive patient if you work with psychiatric patient. A nurse also work with cytotoxic medication sometime. Some of the patients have blood disease. There also is a risk of catching a patent disease. This his why you have to protect yourself carefully.


Conclusion

I am doing my second year in Nursing. I already have done five interns three in medicine, one at the one-day surgery place and one in obstetric. I am doing my sixth intern in surgery. I will also work as an extern this summer in a CHSLD.
