To become a veterinarian it is not that easy, you have to go to college in Pure and Applied Sciences for a period of minimum two years to eventually join university in medicine veterinarian. This university program requires excellent grades, and it lasts minimum five years to finally get a diploma, because they must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medical degree and be licensed by the state.

The average salary for a veterinarian is about $98 133 per year. It is a big salary, but it may vary depending on the experience the vet has and the place the vet is working at.

I think vets are far from being replaced by robots because it requires a lot of observations based on different situations every day. Moreover, veterinary practice requires a lot of thoroughness and case-by-case situation that a robot would not be able to perform. Finally, the aspect of communication with owners, such as empathy, which a robot can't have, is essential.


What age do veterinarians retire at?

We do not track veterinarians’ retirement age, but 15.1 percent of its working members were age 60 or older at the end of 2009. So, it can vary around 50 to 60 years old.


Conclusion

I am now completing my last year of Pure and Applied Science, the next step is the university, so I'm trying to reach the best grades that I can, to enter the medicine program to eventually become a vet. My gold is to reach that job because it always has been my dream since my very young age.
