First of all, you need to be accepted in Police Technology at a college. You do your 3 years of college, and after you need to go to the ENPQ (École Nationale Police Québec) for 15 weeks. After that, you can apply on a job.

The basic salary in around $45 000 per year. But after 5 years the salary is around $80 000 per year.

A police officer needs to be in shape. So, a day-to-day training is important. Also, a weapons handling course is important. Mental training is good too. As a police officer, you need to be prepared to everything. You can see really hard things.


What are the dangers of being police officer?

A lot of people don't like the police...people can be really mean and aggressive with police officers. They have the responsibility to go on the front line and protect people. That means that they put themselves in danger. They can be shot. They work with criminals sometimes so, there are some chances they can be punched and kicked.


What are the chances that police officers will be replaced by robots soon?

I think there are no chances. However, robots can give speed tickets. But for everything about physically arresting someone, that is impossible.


What age do police officers retire at?

A police officer can retire around 55 years old if they don't top their career. But, they can also top their career and have a bigger pension fund.


Conclusion

As you can see, being a police office is a hard job but beautiful job where you help people and save lives. A lot of work need to be done to get there. Personally, I think this job is the best one in the whole world. Helping people and prevent crimes at the same time.
