After every situation or crime, they will need to write a report on computer to explain in detail what happened.

Sometimes, they can work for privately funded think tanks or for a criminal justice or law enforcement agency. A criminologist can either work in the field or in an office environment. Working in the field includes travelling frequently, in an office they travel occasionally. Also, a criminologist can work at universities as a professor for example. All positions include advantages and disadvantages. If you like to move and always do something different, you should probably work in the field. If you like staying at the same place and have something more stable, well you should work in an office environment.
