A social worker will take all of their time to help others with complicated psychological, health, social, or financial problems. They are the one that help families when they are having issues or either are victims of abuse.
There is no such typical day for a social worker. Everyday is full of surprising and new problems to give a hand to. They can either have a full day in the field, go to get the kids at school to meet them, go houses to see if the report was relevant or even do paper work.
They can work for community organization, health places, youth centers, jails and even school.
To become a social worker, a university degree is required. You can either do a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or even a related field such has psychology or sociology.
At the beginning, you get hourly paid approximately $23,18 in Canada. You can reach $37,45 twenty years later. During this time, you evolve each five or ten years. The average base salary is then $54,692 per year.
They can study longer en then complete a Ph.D. in social work, if requested. Otherwise, no training is really needed.
Being a social worker can lead you to face problems you were unaware of. The first two years are crucial for these workers. They get to face themselves when they get frustrated at their own inability to help their clients. They become exhausted by anxiety over their clients’ prospects. The biggest danger is bringing work problems at home.
The chances of being replaced by a robot are very low. Being a human and emotional job, robots would miss a lot and the job done would bring more problems than there already is.
A social worker can retire at least twenty years after entering this world or else the top salary is not reach. Retiring older gives you the opportunity to become caseload managers and assign people to cases, exercising large discretionary powers of assessment and approval for clients’ unusual needs. Like so, the average age is in the sixties.
As you can see, this is a very interesting job. In fact, I now study in Youth and Adult Correctional Intervention and about finishing my second year of the three. Afterwards, I am planing to study Social work in university to be able to work for the DPJ.
