We welcome the patient.We explain to him/her how the exam is going to proceed.We guide him/her for the radiography.We take the radiography. And then, we send it to the doctor for a diagnostic.

It depends on every day, we are not always on the same machine, but obviously we take radiography.


Where do diagnostic imaging technicians work?

They can work at the hospital, in a clinical and again it all depends on the person preferences.Working at the hospital mean's you have more variety of patients, variety of exams and a lot more patients in a day. In clinical, it is the opposite, so if you're more like a calm person, clinical is better for you.You'll like it more.


How can I become diagnostic imaging technician?

You need to go to a cegep that has the technique, in Montreal, it has it at Ahuntsic and at Dawson (in English). You'll have 2 years of cegep and 1 year of trainee ship.And after this, if you passed all of your courses and exams, you'll be ready to work!
