This article is useful to read because you will learn more about one of the most beautiful jobs in the world, the profession of firefighter. I am motivated to write this because for 3 years I have been studying to one day become a firefighter and have a wonderful career.

To become a firefighter in Quebec you must start by doing a 1-year DEP which will allow you to work in most municipalities. You can also continue your studies in a DEC to work in bigger cities like Montreal, Laval, Quebec etc.

Firefighters always intervene in situations that are not going well. So, they expose themselves to dangers like fires, structural collapses etc.


What are the chances that firefighters will be replaced by robots soon?

There is no chance that the profession of firefighter will be replaced by robots because we cannot program a robot to do this profession. All interventions are different, and we need human contact to help people.


What age do firefighters retire at?

Firefighters retire after approximately 25 to 30 years of service. During these years they have had many experiences that most normal people will never have. They have saved lives, helped people and bonded very strongly with their colleagues.


Conclusion

I am a few weeks away from the end of my studies to become a firefighter. I want to start working for a small town and gain experience, then get hired in big cities like Montreal and Laval.
