Is to help people that have mental health issues and social issues. And it can be very diverse issues and most of the times, you work in teams to have different view points. For example, if you work in an Elementary school, the educator is to help the development of the children.

All depend where the educators work, because every work field has different task and objective. But more generally, they take notes about a situation that happen, talk to people to see what happens to their days

You can work everywhere; you can work in elementary school or in prison. All depend on your strength and what are your limits. For example, my strength is patience, but I hate to be faced in a difficult problem like a drug abuse, so for me the best place is an elementary school or a high school


How can I become an educator ?

You are doing a technique in any cegep in quebec that offer the program. It is a 3-year program, but you can expand to 4 years. You are not obligated to go to the university, but it can help to have a better job for later with a better salary.


How much money do educators make?

The base salary starts at $27 an hour. It can be a good salary for a student at a university. The limit is $67, but it's only for public system. For the private institution you can pay $100 an hour, but they have inconvenient, like not having insurance or only to be on call.


What kinds of additional training do educators need?

Like I wrote previously, you are not obligated to have an additional training because you have full basis doing a technique. But going to the university is always a good idea to have a better knowledge, a better salary and a better position at work.


What are the dangers of being an educator ?

To be emotionally invest in a client case but the danger can depend on where you work. If you in an elementary school the danger will not be the same as in a prison


What are the chances that educators will be replaced by robots soon?

The chance are low, because the job is about human experience and how they deal with all sort of problems. It can be complex for a human person but that's the beauty of this job. I don't think robot would replace human in this field because I don't think robot can understand the human trauma


What age do educators retire at?

The legal age to retire is 65 in quebec, but you can retire way after or before if you have your own business related to the field.


Conclusion

Specialized education is a beautiful job if you put the effort and the energy. We need more people that can help people who are in difficult place in life emotionally, psychologically, mentally and socially. Even though it can be a hard work, but the aftermath is worth the effort.
