So, a technician has to know what advice to give and how to do it. For example, if a client has absolutely no way of paying there debts for a long period, it is advised to file for bankruptcy. So, the technician has to know how to deliver the news, and help the client through it.

Accounting technicians can work for large companies and manage one set of books. They can also do independent work, which means they having several clients, and they're their own boss. The advantages of working for one big company is that the workload is easier, but they have to be meticulous with your work. If they work for several clients, the advantage is you decide you're own salary.
